Found in the main reception of University of Winchester, this artwork is a specifically commissioned wall hanging that references the University’s values, aims and connections with the local community.

Text below: The original Anglican foundation established a strong commitment to public service which persists today in a values-driven institution which lives up to its mission: “To Educate, to advance knowledge and to serve the public good”.
In Modern English, the title of this artwork translates to “Wisdom and Knowledge”. This motto was inspired by King Alfred’s translation (during the late 9th century) of Pope Gregory the Great’s Regula Pastoralis, which refers frequently to both wisdom and knowledge.
